The Pace Patriots won their first Florida League High School Invitational in their first year in program history at the event. It took 8 thrilling innings to defeat a tough Timber Creek squad 10-9 in the Championship game.
TOURNAMENT MOST VALUABLE PLAYER - JP Piles - IMG ACADEMY SILVER
JP Piles had a week to remember. The Freshman from IMG impressed by leading the tournament in hits (10), RBI's (8) and OPS (1.585). The leadoff hitter sparked the IMG Silver offense all week long and led them to wins over DeLand, Dr. Phillips and University. He nearly led them to the Championship game but IMG came up just short in an extra inning Semi-Final game against Timber Creek.
TOURNAMENT MOST VALUABLE PITHER - Kane Garcia - IMG ACADEMY SILVER
Kane Garcia was utterly dominant on the mound in two appearances for the IMG Ascenders. The Sophomore earned 2 separate wins on 8 total innings pitched. In those 8 innings he struck out an astounding 15 batters. He had a 0.88 WHIP and earned his wins over DeLand and University.
